Join a local YOUTH-ID group to build your skills and co-develop proposals for a more inclusive community!
YOUTH-ID is an Erasmus+ European Youth Together project that aims to empower young people to play an active role in shaping their communities. Through training and practical activities, the project strengthens young people’s skills in participatory community design, democratic engagement and advocacy, adopting an intersectional approach to ensure that different needs, backgrounds and perspectives are considered in community planning and local decision-making. By connecting learning with practical experience, YOUTH-ID aims to support young people in developing inclusive community initiatives and bringing their ideas into dialogue with decision-makers.
We are currently establishing permanent local groups of young people in Belgium, Cyprus, France, Italy, North Macedonia and Poland, who will participate in activities throughout the project (indicatively from November 2026 to November 2027).
What activities will you be involved in?
- Online and in-person training: sessions on Participatory Design and Community Mapping, Intersectional Identities and Diversity Awareness, and Advocacy.
- Practical simulations: hands-on activities in community mapping, participatory budgeting and policy engagement.
- Participatory design labs: apply your skills to develop community project proposals and local policy briefs responding to local needs.
- International youth exchange in Poland: present your group’s project proposals, exchange feedback and connect with youth groups from other European countries.
- Local presentations to decision-makers: meet with local authorities and stakeholders to present and discuss your group’s project proposals.
- Advocacy marathon in Brussels: Participate in a two-day transnational event culminating in the co-production of a White Paper outlining young people’s key recommendations for European stakeholders.
- Online transnational fair: Showcase your group’s project proposals to a wider European audience through dedicated local sections of the project’s digital platform.
What will you gain?
- Professional development: strengthen your knowledge and skills in participatory design, mainstreaming intersectionality, advocacy and policy engagement.
- Practical experience: apply innovative, participatory methods to develop project proposals addressing needs in your community.
- European networking: connect with youth organisations and professionals across Europe through transnational learning and exchange.
- Access to resources: benefit from the Youth-ID Digital Handbook, training materials and digital collaboration platform.
- Meaningful impact: contribute to more inclusive community planning that reflects diverse and intersecting needs, and strengthen youth participation in local decision-making.
