We’re excited to share a major milestone for the Youth-ID project: our Handbook for Youth Workers is now complete!
Built collaboratively by all project partners -ALDA, CSC, PROM, and KMOP PC- this practical, hands-on resource equips youth workers with the tools and methods they need to support young people in participatory design, intersectional inclusivity, and democratic community planning. From running a community mapping session to facilitating participatory budgeting or guiding young people through their first lobbying meeting with local authorities, the handbook brings together real methods and examples: just practice you can use right away.
Inside, you’ll find five core sections covering:
- Core EU Values and Democratic Engagement: connecting big ideas like democracy and solidarity to everyday youth work
- Participatory Design in Community Planning: step-by-step methods for youth-led initiatives, including low-tech options
- Intersectionality and Inclusive Practices: strategies to make sure every young person’s voice is genuinely heard
- Collaborative Bottom-Up Planning Tools: including a practical guide to youth-led lobbying and advocacy
- Transnational Peer Learning: how to build and run cross-border exchanges between young people

Next stop: Strasbourg!
To bring this handbook to life, we’re organizing a Transnational Train-the-Trainers session in Strasbourg, where youth workers from across our partner countries -Italy, Poland, Cyprus, and Greece- will come together to test the methods, exchange experiences, and build confidence in delivering this content to young people in their own communities.

Location: Strasbourg, France
Who can apply: Youth workers from partner organizations and networks working with young people aged 18 and above, especially those from marginalized backgrounds
